Relief Emergency Fund for Romanian Artists

In the context of the Covid-19 pandemic, the community of artists and cultural workers which are in a very big number self-employed was affected as much as other categories of people.
We need to protect creative minds in these dramatic times so after the crisis we can still evolve as a nation and human race.
In Romania, the Government does not consider artists, curators and art workers a category to be supported. They have very big problems and most of them are in the impossibility to pay their rent, medication or their daily food supply. If other countries supported their artists' Romanian state does not do that.
The money raised will be distributed to artists, curators, and cultural workers. There is a lot of people we already know and they need immediate help, but also we hope we can help more. After rapid research made by the initiative group and any other people willing to help to find artists in distress, we will immediately send financial help where is need it.
The initiative group is Mihai Zgondoiu, Eugen Rădescu, Beral Madra, Henk Slager, Carlo Zappella and Răzvan Ion.
Artists in need can write us an email, or anyone can send us for them.
After Covid-19 pandemic will end, our foundation will continue to exist and to fulfill our goal supporting projects, curators and artists.
The foundation is a collaboration of Spinnwerk Kunstverein Vienna, technology & art organization and Artphoto București, organizer of Bucharest Biennale - International Contemporary Art Biennial.
