TO WHOM?
Call for young European artists driven by innovative experimental audio-visual expression. 30 participants will be selected to take part in the workshop.
(20 internationals and 10 from Romania)
EXPENSES
Applying to the workshop is free of charge.
For the selected 30 participants there will be a participation fee: 80 euros for Romanian participants
150 euros for the international participants
The participation fee will cover accommodation and working spaces during the 10-day workshop. Travel and food expenses are not refundable.
For the selected international participants the 150 euro fee is to be payed in by 24 November 2014 to the NISI MASA Bank account to confirm attendance.
For the selected Romanian participants the 80 euro fee is to be payed by 1 December (or, upon arrival, if you are not residing in Bucharest, on Dec 4th), to the NISI MASA local representative in Bucharest.
WHERE AND WHEN:
The workshop takes place in Bucharest, Romania, during 5th-14th December 2014. Preferred travel dates: 4th December (Thursday) and 15th December (Monday)
WHAT?
During the 10-day workshop (5th-14th December 2014) 30 international filmmakers and visual artists aged 18-35 will be guided by tutors and work on experimental filmmaking. Together, they will produce short film experiments that will be premiered on the very last day of the festival. The working method of the workshop is collaboration, reflection and sharing with fellow participants, with the aim of learning, exploring and developing creativity together.
This year’s approach encourages and supports the relationship between film, music, mapping and live performance aiming to render obsolete the gap between the screen and the audience by making the whole process - from conception to screening - a great interactive experience for all those involved.
Working language of the workshop is English.

DEADLINE FOR APPLICATIONS : 7 November 2014
SELECTION PROCESS
Selected participants will be informed by the 14th of November.
The selection committee will base the evaluation of the candidates on:
- the motivation to take part in a project dealing with experimental filmmaking, combined with music, live performance and mapping
- suitability to attend an intensive 10-day workshop based on collaborative filmmaking
- skills, creativity and the cogency of the sample work
RIGHTS
Notion: The material produced during the NISI MASA & BIEFF Experimental film workshop may be screened under the frame of NISI MASA & BIEFF for non-commercial publicity purposes. For any possible commercial releases or sales a separate contract will be made between the producer (NISI MASA) and the selected participant.
